New York Land Survey Drafting
Land Survey Drafting in New York
Land survey drafting in New York for Licensed Land Surveyors. We prepare boundary maps, county filing sheets, and NYC topographic drawings from your field data and approved boundary information, using your CAD standards for your direction and review.
Overview
What is Land Survey Drafting in New York?
We turn your measurements, deed research, and filed-map references into CAD sheets for New York surveying firms. Boundary maps, subdivision maps, and agency submissions each use the information and filing format your LS specifies.
County and city requirements differ. The drawing may need deed and adjoiner references, a tax parcel number, basis of bearings, found and set monuments, and elevation-datum notes. Send the receiving office's current checklist with your survey data.
Our land survey drafting services start from the LS's fieldwork and boundary decisions. For ALTA/NSPS plats and other maps, you provide the professional direction, record references, and certification. Confirm the outside-drafting arrangement with NYSED or counsel before work starts; professional review does not authorize unlicensed practice.

Why it matters
Practice Guidelines, RPL 334, and the New York LS seal
NYSED's Practice Guidelines describe good practice; professional obligations come from the Education Law and regulations. Send the project's applicable standards and certifications, including DEC requirements where relevant, so we can draft the supporting notes and blocks.
Real Property Law 334 and county-specific rules affect filing sizes, media, and certificates. We use the receiving office's current requirements and leave professional execution to your LS. Agency acceptance and recording remain with the authorities.
Specify the NAD 83 East, Central, West, or Long Island zone and units. We retain that basis across the drawing set.
NYC construction elevations use NAVD 88. Supply any approved conversion from a legacy borough datum for the drawing note.
The LS supplies the professional seal and signature on maps for public filing. We reserve the required execution area.
Sealed maps carry the alteration warning. For changes, supply the licensee's "altered by" information, date, and description.
For subdivision maps along navigable state waters, provide the littoral-line information to carry beyond the high-water mark.
Tell us whether the project requires health-department review and a water-supply plan. We include the required review and approval spaces.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Arcengine holds no New York surveyor license or NYSED Certificate of Authorization and supplies CAD drafting only. The LS retains fieldwork, boundary decisions, direction, and signing and sealing. Confirm the outside-drafting arrangement with NYSED or counsel. Regents Rule 29.3(a)(3) requires a thorough written professional evaluation when the LS seals documents not prepared personally or by a directly supervised employee. It must be dated, signed, sealed, and kept for at least six years; this does not authorize unlicensed practice. NYSED also bars an unauthorized business from subcontracting a surveyor to serve a third-party client. Property owners should engage the LS directly.
We use your specified NAD 83 East, Central, West, or Long Island zone and units. Supply the bearing note, control realization, and any geoid model used for elevations. NYC sheets show NAVD 88 and the borough-datum conversion you provide.
Yes. Send the county's current filing checklist. Monroe, for example, uses specified sheet sizes and certification and health-department blocks; Nassau and Suffolk have separate statutory provisions. We set up the drawing and revise from your redlines. The county decides acceptance.
Only with your field verification. Regents Rule 29.3 requires reasonable field confirmation of relevant boundary lines and monuments before an existing boundary survey is revised. Send the old map, new survey data, and approved changes; we show the revision date and description.
The Practice Guidelines describe good practice and are not themselves a basis for disciplinary charges. DEC-funded acquisitions may require certification to the NYSAPLS Code of Practice. Specify the project's standard and certification text. We draft the notes and blocks; you determine and certify professional compliance.
