Michigan Land Survey Drafting

Land Survey Drafting in Michigan

Land survey drafting in Michigan for professional surveyors. We prepare Act 132 map sheets, subdivision plats, and site condominium drawings from your field data and records, using your CAD standards for your direction and review.

Overview

What is Land Survey Drafting in Michigan?

Michigan surveyors need distinct formats for Act 132 certified survey maps, subdivision plats, and site condominium plans. We draft each from your field data, descriptions, and record plats, with the appropriate sheet setup and references.

The legal reference may use the public land survey grid, a private claim, or another recorded tract. Supply the reference your survey establishes, including Detroit-area private claims where applicable. We carry it consistently into the caption, dimensions, and supporting sheets.

Our land survey drafting services cover Act 132 maps, plats, and ALTA/NSPS plats. The Michigan professional surveyor remains in responsible charge, makes boundary decisions, and supervises preparation. That licensee checks and signs and seals the final drawing; Arcengine supplies CAD drafting only.

Why it matters

Where Michigan's Drafting Rules Come From

The State Board of Professional Surveyors regulates professional responsibility. Drawing formats come from Act 132, the Land Division Act, plat rules, and condominium rules. We prepare the sheet content and certificate spaces for your review before applicable county and state plat review.

Provide the receiving county's current checklist. Oakland County, for example, checks mathematical closures and condominium exhibits. We keep the drawing references, areas, and review blocks consistent across the set.

MCS 83 has north, central, and south zones assigned by county. Wayne, Kent, Ingham, and Washtenaw are in the south zone.

For recorded coordinates, provide the positional-tolerance estimate, control-monument reference, and survey method for the required note.

When state plane coordinates appear on a final plat, supply government-corner coordinates, the additional control station, and combined scale factor.

We draft Land Corner Recordation Certificate information from your records. You determine whether filing is required and meet the applicable 90-day deadline.

A tentative parcel map shows the proposed division at scale. You establish the division's eligibility, access, and ordinance requirements before we draft it.

Only the Michigan professional surveyor supplies the professional certification. We leave seal and signature areas for the licensee in responsible charge.
