Wisconsin Land Survey Drafting

Land Survey Drafting in Wisconsin

Land survey drafting in Wisconsin for professional land surveyors. We prepare certified survey maps, subdivision plats, and A-E 7 property survey maps from your field data and records. You direct and control preparation, review each drawing, and sign, seal, and date it.

Overview

What is Land Survey Drafting in Wisconsin?

We turn your Wisconsin measurements, deeds, recorded plats, and CSMs into CAD sheets. You specify the map type, coordinate basis, and local checklist; we prepare the linework, notes, and certificate layout for your review.

Plats and CSMs follow Chapter 236, while property survey maps follow A-E 7. We retain your government-lot, private-claim, and PLSS references, including the older claim patterns around Green Bay and Prairie du Chien.

Our land survey drafting services cover CSMs, subdivision plats, property survey maps, and ALTA/NSPS land title survey plats. You maintain active direction and control throughout preparation. Confirm the outside-drafting arrangement under A-E 8.03 with the Professional Land Surveyor Section or counsel before work starts.

Why it matters

What Wisconsin's Chapter 236 and A-E 7 ask of each sheet

Chapter 236 governs plats and CSMs; A-E 7 governs property survey maps. The Professional Land Surveyor Section of the AE Board regulates the surveyor. We use your map scope, monument information, and certificate text.

For subdivision plats subject to DOA Plat Review, we supply a PDF made from CAD and reserve certification space. You handle the state and local review process and direct revisions to any objections.

Specify the State Plane or approved county system and datum. WISCRS has 59 county systems shared by 72 counties; plats use the datum selected by the local approving authority.

A bearing basis needs a specific datum and reference. We avoid generic county-coordinate labels and use the information your surveyor provides.

For waterfront plats and CSMs, supply the meander line, ordinary high water information, and applicable public trust statement. We draft the notes and geometry you determine.

Tell us the county survey filing date and recipient, including SEWRPC where it provides county surveyor services. We prepare the copy from your approved drawing.

Provide the application, approval, and recording dates so drafting and revisions fit your statutory and local review schedule.

The PLS who prepares or directs and controls the work signs, seals, and dates each sheet. You supply the surveyor's certificate for plats and CSMs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Arcengine holds no Wisconsin professional land surveyor license and supplies CAD drafting only. The licensed surveyor performs the survey, actively directs and checks preparation, and signs, seals, and dates the sheets. Confirm the outside-drafting arrangement under A-E 8.03 before work starts. Property owners should hire a professional land surveyor and can check credentials through DSPS.
