Overview
What is Land Survey Drafting in Arizona?
We turn your Arizona field data, calculations, and record research into CAD sheets for county filing and project review. Records of survey retain the section, township, range, or grant references you identify, including work outside the Gila and Salt River grid.
Your drawing type and local checklist guide the sheet setup. We place the basis of bearings, references, monument notes, and surveyor's statement for the applicable standards edition. A.R.S. 11-481 governs recorded-map titles and formats.
The RLS directs our land survey drafting services and makes every surveying decision. Confirm the staffing arrangement with BTR or your counsel before work starts under R4-30-101 and R4-30-301. You guide preparation of records of survey, corner records, and ALTA/NSPS land title survey plats, with input throughout drafting.

Why it matters
How the BTR, the 2001 standards, and A.R.S. Title 33 shape an Arizona sheet
The State Board of Technical Registration (BTR) regulates RLS practice under A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 1. The standards transition affects R4-30-301 and revised R4-30-305. Confirm the edition and effective date for your job with BTR. We use your coordinate basis, adjustment factors, and certification wording.
Attach the Phoenix, Maricopa County, or other local checklist. We prepare the requested closure reports, tables, approval blocks, and CAD files; you verify survey compliance and handle filing.
Specify the 1983 West, Central, or East zone. Maricopa, Pima, and Yavapai counties use Central; we carry the statutory system and zone name into your coordinate note.
Arizona State Plane coordinates use international feet. Where coordinates and PLSS calls conflict in the same description, A.R.S. 33-136 gives the PLSS reference precedence.
Tell us the system and source coordinates for any transition work. NGS has finalized SPCS2022 definitions while its modernized tools remain beta; we preserve your supplied values and labels.
You determine whether the 90-day record-of-survey or 30-day corner-record filing rule applies. Give us the filing date when we agree the drafting schedule.
Recorded maps use the A.R.S. 11-481 format: subdivision plats at 24 × 36 inches, other large maps at 18 × 24 or 24 × 36, with a 2-inch left margin and at least 11-point type.
We mark check prints preliminary. Your RLS signs, dates, and seals released sheets under R4-30-304, including its design-team exception and dispute-resolution requirements.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Arcengine supplies CAD drafting only, holds no BTR registration, and does no field surveying. Before work starts, confirm that the outside-drafting relationship and supervision meet R4-30-101 and R4-30-301 with BTR or your counsel. The RLS directs and examines preparation during and after drafting and signs and seals the final sheets. Final review alone does not establish eligibility. Landowners should hire an Arizona RLS for a survey.

For recording, supply the control-station descriptions required by A.R.S. 33-138 and the coordinate basis, zone, and adjustment factors for the applicable standards edition. We place your notes and preserve your coordinate values.
Yes. We draft the bearing basis, references, legend, scale, curve data, and surveyor's statement you specify. Revised R4-30-305 has been adopted; confirm the applicable edition and effective date with BTR before preparation. The RLS supplies certification wording and makes the surveying decisions.
Yes. We draft records of survey from your monument, bearing, distance, date, and tract data, and corner records from your ties and monument descriptions. You determine which filing rule applies and file with the county recorder.
Send the current checklist with your data. We prepare Phoenix DWG/PDF plat sets and Maricopa County closure reports and Excel tables as requested, with suitable sheet size, legible content, and space for seals. You review and submit; acceptance remains with the city, county, or recorder.
