Overview
What is Land Survey Drafting in Texas?
Texas drafting must preserve both the land record and coordinate basis. Your tract may refer to a General Land Office grant in varas; the drawing also needs the system, zone, and units used for its supplied coordinates.
We draft boundaries, improvements, easements, utilities, and contours from your data. Original survey and abstract names, record references, and grid-to-surface factors stay with the linework so you can check the sheet against the survey.
The Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) directs the survey and our land survey drafting services. We prepare residential boundary drawings and ALTA/NSPS land title survey plats from supplied records and measurements. Surveying decisions, final review, signature, and seal remain with the RPLS.

What we deliver
What's included in Texas Survey Drafting
Send your data, records, survey category, coordinate basis, and local checklist. We draft the required sheets under your direction.
Category 1A & 1B Survey Drafting
Category 1A land title and Category 1B standard land survey drawings, to the TSPS Manual of Practice category and condition your RPLS specifies.
ALTA/NSPS Survey Drafting
Plats drafted to the 2026 ALTA/NSPS standards and contracted Table A items, including item 20 when requested. Your RPLS resolves any stricter state requirement.
Boundary Survey Drafting
Boundary drawings with adjoining record references, found/set monument labels, and your metes and bounds calls.
Topographic Survey Drafting
Topographic drawings from your field or LiDAR data, with contours and spot elevations on the specified grid or surface coordinates.
RRC W-1 Well Location Plats
W-1 drilling permit plats with the lease outline, survey and lease-line distances, and horizontal well take points from your data.
TxDOT Parcel Plats
Parcel plats to accompany your RPLS's right-of-way descriptions, in the TxDOT format and specified Texas Coordinate System units.
Subdivision Plats & Replats
Subdivision plats and replats with your metes and bounds boundary, original survey ties, and local approval blocks.
Easement Exhibits
Easement exhibits from your descriptions, with record-corner ties, coordinates, and grid-to-surface notes where requested.
Why it matters
Texas rules behind a survey drawing
TBPELS rules, the state's coordinate law, and local checklists shape the sheet. We carry your bearing basis, system and zone name, and supported area precision into the drawing.
Attach the current local checklist. Dallas plat work needs original survey and abstract references; Houston work can require South Central Zone coordinates and a combined scale factor. Your RPLS supplies and checks those values.
Texas has five State Plane zones assigned by county. Specify the job's zone; we preserve the supplied coordinates and labels.
The statutory vara is 33 1/3 inches. We retain vara calls in public-land records and field notes as your RPLS directs.
When a plat accompanies a separate metes and bounds description, each document references the other.
Supply the grid-to-surface factor and point-of-commencement and point-of-beginning coordinates for TxDOT or Houston work that requires them.
Tell us the application and response dates. We revise drawings to the RPLS's instructions on written city or county conditions.
The surveyor of record signs and seals the drawing and controls the end product; General Land Office filings may require an LSLS.

Yes. Your RPLS specifies the TSPS category and condition or the 2026 ALTA/NSPS scope and Table A items. Where state rules are stricter, the RPLS decides how the drawing meets them.
Yes. We prepare W-1 plats at 1 inch = 1,000 feet, or 1 inch = 2,000 feet where needed for the lease. Supply the lease outline, survey and lease-line distances, coordinates, and take-point data.
